Yesterday the students were in for both a jam packed, yet super fun and exciting day. They began with a delicious breakfast in the dinning hall, filling them up for the lectures and events to come. Soon after the students attended the Product Pitch Introduction, a seminar taught by our Business Program Director. During the intro, the students were told details of the “shark tank” style project they will be working on for the next few days. Students then broke in their TA groups and split into different categories for the project such as Finance, Marketing, and Presentation. After another lunch at Pierson dining hall, students were introduced to a third simulation called the negotiation simulation in which students will later be grouped as different companies. After another short period of time for product pitch ideation, the group then met with our leadership facilitator to discuss conflicts that are seen as a constant throughout life. After this students headed back towards the dorms to have a break and have dinner before continuing there final product pitch session of the day. We then moved on to our Business Labs which entails lecturers given by TA’s on topics such as Personal Finance, Business Careers and Diversity, and Marketing/PR. We then ended the night with a walk across campus in order to do dyadic within the business program. The dyadic is a chance for students to talk one on one with another student who they are not familiar with, and to answer questions that require lots of self reflection and honesty towards that other individual.
