Yesterday, Environmental Science went on a field trip to Woods Hole in Cape Cod, Massachusetts! When we got there, we split into three teams and rotated around doing a variety of different things. One group got to explore the dock area of Woods Hole and interact with a few different sea creatures like see urchins, small crabs, clams, and a few others that were being used in a research lab conducted by graduate students at the Woods Hole marine biology laboratory! This rotation also included a tour of the Woods Hole Oceanographic institution which was a Museum where the students got to see a version of the Alvin which has been used by the US Navy to conduct deep ocean research. The second rotation was a boat tour that the students went on where they learned a little bit about marine biology and got to collect some of the sea creatures that they saw in the lab right out of the water. This was an immersive activity that the students really enjoyed. Then the last rotation was free time for a chance to get to know the Woods Hole area and want before they leave.
