Yesterday the business and entrepreneurship students got into the full swing of NSLC. To kick off the day, we introduced the product pitch simulation to the students where they will compete TA group to TA group over the next week to build the best product or service sharks tank style. After the introduction and ideation sessions, we took a short bus ride to Hartford where the students got to visit with the yard goats— a minor league baseball team. They got to talk to many on the yard goats executive staff including the general manager, Mike Abramson, about sports business. After our talk, we got to tour the facility to see the dugouts, the locker rooms, and the batting cages. The rest of the day consisted of a leadership session with our leadership facilitator Big Dave, Business labs, and a social leadership activity. Through the business labs, students were able to learn about diversity and business careers, personal finance, and marketing. The students ended the night with an activity called dyadic where they are paired with other students to learn more about each other.
